1. Introduction
Jolpai AI Keyboard is an Android keyboard application provided by Websoftstar Infosystems LLP (“Websoftstar”, “Jolpai”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy explains how information may be accessed, processed, stored, or shared when you use the keyboard and its features. The exact data flow depends on the feature you choose, your device settings, and the services used to fulfil your request.
App package on Google Play: in.jolpai.ai.keyboard. Website: https://jolpai.in/.
2. Everyday typing & keyboard privacy
Jolpai AI Keyboard acts as an input method so you can type in other apps. We do not intentionally send ordinary keystrokes to Websoftstar servers merely to provide basic keyboard input. Text entered through a keyboard can be sensitive; please take care when entering passwords, payment details, or confidential information. Optional online features are described separately below.
3. AccessibilityService disclosure — Smart Reply
Purpose: If you choose to enable Smart Reply, Jolpai AI Keyboard uses Android’s AccessibilityService API to identify and read the most recent visible incoming message in a supported messaging or email screen. This helps prepare a contextual reply without requiring you to copy and paste the message.
Information accessed
- The text of the most recent visible message where the other app exposes it through Android’s accessibility framework.
- Limited screen/interface context needed to identify the relevant message and distinguish it from surrounding content.
- The active app or screen context needed to support the feature in compatible messaging and email apps.
Use and handling
- The visible message is used to prepare a Smart Reply suggestion. The intended design is to process AccessibilityService-captured message content on your device and not upload that captured message to Websoftstar servers for everyday Smart Reply suggestions. This description must match the released app behaviour.
- The service is intended for Smart Reply when enabled and the relevant screen is active, not for recording all activity across your device.
- Availability depends on whether the other app exposes message text to Android accessibility services. We do not intend to collect passwords, payment information, or unrelated screen content.
- Enabling Accessibility is optional. You can decline the in-app disclosure or revoke access later in Android Settings. Basic keyboard functions may remain available, while Smart Reply may not work.
Consent: Before opening Accessibility settings, the app shows a separate, prominent in-app disclosure explaining the data accessed, purpose, and handling, with an affirmative choice and a separate decline option. This website policy does not replace that in-app disclosure.
How to manage Accessibility permission
You can turn the Accessibility service on or off at any time in Android system settings:
- Open Settings → Accessibility (on some devices: Settings → Accessibility → Installed apps / Downloaded apps).
- Find Jolpai AI Keyboard (or the listed service name) and disable or enable it.
- You can also open Accessibility settings from the in-app prompt when Smart Reply is first enabled.
Direct device path varies by manufacturer. Use the in-app “Open Accessibility settings” action when available for the exact screen on your phone.
4. AI writing, reply generation, grammar & translation
- Online AI tools: When you deliberately submit text to an online AI feature—such as AI Reply Generator, email writing, grammar correction, tone adjustment, rewriting, or another AI tool—the submitted text and instructions may be sent to the configured AI service or server to generate the result.
- Everyday typing: Ordinary keystrokes are not intentionally sent to an AI service merely because you are typing.
- Smart Reply distinction: AccessibilityService-captured message content is intended to stay on-device as described in Section 3. If you separately copy or submit message text to an online AI tool, that separate action may transmit the text.
- Translation: Text submitted for translation may be processed on-device when an offline model is available, or sent to the configured online translation service when online processing is used. Behaviour depends on the selected translation path.
- External providers: AI and translation providers may process request data under their own terms and privacy practices. Review applicable provider information before submitting sensitive text.
Avoid submitting passwords, bank/card details, government identity numbers, confidential work information, or other sensitive data to online AI tools.
5. Voice input & microphone
When you actively start voice input, the app may request microphone access. Audio may be processed by Android SpeechRecognizer or the speech-recognition provider configured on your device. Depending on the service and device settings, audio or speech data may be sent to that provider for transcription. Microphone access is intended for user-initiated voice input, not continuous recording. You can deny this permission and use features that do not require it.
6. Local storage & permissions
- Clipboard manager: Items you explicitly save to the keyboard’s clipboard manager are intended to be stored locally on your device. Avoid saving sensitive content you do not want retained on the device.
- Undo/Redo history: Text history used for undo/redo may be kept temporarily in memory while the feature is active.
- Input method: Required for the app to function as a keyboard.
- Microphone: Used for voice input when you choose to use it.
- Network access: Used for online AI/translation requests and retrieving required resources or language models.
- Accessibility: Optional; used for Smart Reply as described in Section 3.
- Notifications / app discovery: If enabled in the app, these support optional shortcuts or notifications. Actual permission use matches features in the released version.
7. Third-party services, security & retention
The app or website may use third-party services to support AI, translation, speech recognition, hosting, analytics, billing (for example Google Play Billing), or site functionality. Those services may receive the information necessary for their function.
We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure. Data retention depends on the feature, local device settings, and the third-party provider involved. Do not assume that a third-party service deletes request data immediately unless its current policy confirms that.
8. Your choices & children’s privacy
You can choose whether to use optional AI, translation, voice, and Smart Reply features; deny optional permissions; turn off Accessibility access in Android Settings (see Section 3); and clear clipboard items stored by the app using the available controls. If you believe information has been handled incorrectly, contact us using the details below.
The app is not designed to encourage children to submit personal information; parents or guardians should supervise children’s use of online features. The service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top indicates the latest revision. Please review this page periodically.
